Impact Assessment Act and Canada's Duty to Consult and Accommodate: Video
Ian MacKinnon is a former student of Professor Metallic and recently graduated from Schulich School of Law with a JD and Certificate of Environmental Law. Ian's decision to study law was initially motivated by the pursuit of environmental law, but his interest developed specifically into the intersection of Aboriginal and Indigenous law issues and the environment. Throughout his studies, he was lucky to have gained experience in this area working with the Ecology Action Centre and East Coast Environmental Law. This interest and experience formed the basis for this presentation that looks at the intersection of and relationship between environmental impact assessments and the Crown's duty to consult and accommodate with Canada's Indigenous Peoples, which was prepared for Professor Metallic's Advanced Aboriginal Peoples and the Law course in his final year.
